Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees feted
New Delhi:Felicitation of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardee, 2021-2022 and Prize Distribution function for National Girl Child Day, 2022 was held at Manipur State Bal Bhavan, Imphal on Friday. The felicitation function was graced by Social Welfare Minister Heikham Dingo Singh as Chief Guest.
The felicitation function was also attended by Joint Director ICDS, Bantee Konthoujam MCS and Social Welfare Joint Director Jitesor Keisham as President and Guest of Honour respectively. The programme was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Dingo congratulated the two Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardees, 2021-2022 namely Venish Keisham and Daulas Lambamayum (Art & Culture). He said that the Social Welfare Department has been working on various schemes for all round development of the society.
He said that children of today have a range of talents in different fields of learning and they need proper guidance by teachers and parents. Those learners will be a strength of character in our society in future and dependability for the welfare of our society, he added. The Minister also urged parents and teachers to support and advise students in their learning for a peaceful and better society.
The Minister also declared an open Model Marketing Workshop which will be conducted for five days starting from May 27 to 31.
During the function, certificates and prizes were awarded to the position holders of the online slogan and photography competition held as part of National Girl Child Day, 2022.
As many as 29 children were chosen for this year’s Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. They were awarded in the field of innovation, scholastic achievements, sports, arts and culture, social service and bravery. Each child was given a medal, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000.
Officials of the Social Welfare Department, Health Department, parents and students were also present at the occasion.
