Manipur RIMS gets advanced CT scan machine
Imphal: Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal inaugurated newly installed Advanced CT Scan (Siemens) at New OPD Block Hospital, Imphal and newly installed Advanced CT Scan (Phillips) at Trauma Center of the premier medical institute on Saturday in the presence of Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent RIMS Hospital and Prof. S. Subhaschandra Singh, Head of Radiodiagnosis Department.
The programme was also attended by staff and faculty members of the institute.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Prof Santa conveyed that the two machines TRAUMA CT Model: – ACCESS CT — 32 slice machine manufactured by Philips Health Care Co. Ltd. and Radiodiagnosis New CT Scan machine – SOMATOM go. All CT— 192 slice enabled Machine manufactured by Siemens Medical Equipment Ltd. are capable of sophisticated imaging such as Artificial Intelligence enabled, Cardiac CT/coronary angiography, Perfusion analysis of brain for stroke & Brain tumors, Neuro-vascular angiography, Peripheral vascular angiography, Renal angiography, Paediatric imaging, Dual Energy CT for implants, foreign bodies & characterization of Renal stones, imaging of Gout to detected uric acid crystal non-invasively, High speed image acquisition (complete a scan in seconds to minutes)192slices/image single gantry rotation, Higher and better image Quality, Lower Radiation exposure to patient and other routinely done CT-Scanning of different body parts can be performed easily and in short duration giving more advantage for well-being of health care professionals during their service.
The RIMS Director also mentioned that RIMS Hospital has priority of opening up World Class Modular OT and also planning to inaugurate Burn Unit and Psychiatry Building.
