Awadh TV Report says After weeks, positivity rate falls below 10 pc in manipur

Imphal: With daily Covid-19 testing seeing a significant drop, a total of 148 people from the general population were confirmed as fresh cases out of 1563 samples taken for testing on Monday. The positivity rate has now fallen to 9.5 percent. The last time when the positivity rate dropped below 10 percent was on January 15. Three persons including two who had taken the second dose of Covid vaccine also died of the virus in the last 24 hours, heightening the death toll to 2066. After 272 persons were discharged in a span of 24 hours, the recovery rate has climbed to 95.76 percent.

Covid-19 Common Control Room in its daily bulletin informed that the positive cases were confirmed at RIMS (11), JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (130) and that the positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (33), Imphal West (61), Thoubal (13), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (10), Kangpokpi (4), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (3), Noney (1), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (6). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are placed.

In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported three deaths. The district wise distributions are Imphal East (1), Imphal West (1) and Thoubal (1). The cumulative number of deaths is 2066. All the three deceased persons had co-morbidities. Of them, two had received the second dose of Covid vaccine while one was not vaccinated. Altogether 272 persons were discharged on Monday. They are from Home Isolation (204), RIMS (22), JNIMS (13) and CCCs (33).

The control room also informed that the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,35,010 (General Population – 1,30,032 and Central Security Personnel – 4,978) while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,29,285 (General Population – 1,24,427 and Central Security Personnel – 4,858). The number of active cases is 3659 (General Population – 3546 and Central Security Personnel -113), it added.

As on Sunday, a total of 225 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 82 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State. The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered on Sunday is 5544. The cumulative number of doses is 2574197 (first dose – 1460108, second dose – 1074129 and precautionary dose – 39960), it conveyed.
