BJP overcame Covid, brought development: Minister Th.Biswajit Singh
Imphal: Works Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive Member Th Biswajit has contended that despite ruling the country and the State for decades, the Congress has done nothing substantial as compared to the time and money the grand old party consumed in the name of development.
Addressing a one-day election campaign of BJP candidate from 54-Nungba (ST) AC Dinganglung alias Dipu Gangmei held on Friday at Gaidimjang Khoupum in Noney district, Biswajit said that unlike the Congress the BJP has delivered a stable government and good governance during its five-year rule despite facing the severe impact of Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that the BJP-led government both at the Centre and in the State has lived up to expectations of the people under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is leading the country towards the path of development with his mantra ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Biswas, Sabka Prayas for a new India.
Saying that people must recall the history and analyze the present to save the future, Biswajit urged the people to be aware of the cheap politics adopted by the Congress so that the State does not face the uncertain future as witnessed during the Congress rule.
The Minister also appealed to the voters of Nungba AC to vote for BJP candidate Dipu Gangmei who left the prestigious IAS job to serve the people.
BJP Manipur Pradesh President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi maintained that leaders of other political parties both from the Centre and the State had never visited Nungba AC in the past, leaving the people of the constituency in a lurch.
She said that leaders should always interact with the people to bridge the gap between the people and the government and create a favourable environment for development.
With regard to employment, Sharda said that thousands of youth are jobless in the absence of a proper policy for skill development during the period of the previous Congress government.
Setting up of a university for skill development is necessary to facilitate skilful individuals to produce their own products which in turn will help in solving the problem of unemployment in the State.
The visiting team also hoisted BJP flag at Satudai in the presence of Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla, former Minister Jangamlung Panmei, former BJP Manipur Pradesh Vice-President Adim Pamei, Social Worker Mathiupong Gonmei, former Tamenglong ADC Members, BJP Manipur ST Morcha President Lanjaigai Kamei, BJP Tamenglong District President Daniel Malangmei and supporters of Dipu Gangmei.
