Imphal:Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar on Monday visited Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) along with State Health Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh.

Both the Ministers were accorded warm welcome in a function organised at the Jubilee Hall, RIMS before attending a virtual meeting of the Health Ministers from RIMS. The Union Minister also attended the IDCF virtual program.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar said that India has remarkably marched ahead in the field of health care system and the country is at a new height of excellence. She said that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been able to successfully eradicate multiple diseases.

She said that India is also famous as the world’s pharmacy and now the country has become one of the biggest suppliers of quality medicines at lower cost. Affordable quality health care is the vision for Prime Minister Health for All scheme. We have also been able to defeat Corona disease. The country has also successfully vaccinated more than 194 crore, she added.

Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar also congratulated RIMS authority and its staff for successfully implementing many health schemes and programs relating to the health care system. She also appealed to the young medical staff to play the role of torch bearers to bring the best health care system in the country.

Later the Ministerial team inspected different departments of RIMS. The Union Minister interacted with the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Additional Chief Secretary V. Vumlunmang, IAS, Director Health Services, Dr. K. Rajo Singh, Director RIMS, Prof. A. Santa Singh and MS, RIMS Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, were amongst those who were present at the occasion.
